Program Description

Institution
Founded in 1982, the UB is the oldest and largest institute of higher education in the southern African nation of Botswana. The university has three campuses, including the main campus in the capital of Gamborone, and serves over 15,000 undergraduate and graduate programs. The University is closely involved in the national development process of Botswana.

About Botswana
Botswana is situated at the center of Southern Africa with a land area of 581,730 sq/km or roughly the size of France. The country is bordered by Namibia to the West, Zambia and Zimbabwe to the North East and the Republic of South Africa to the South and South East. The country is a multi party democracy known for being one of the most stable democracies in the world since independence from Britain in 1966. The capital Gaborone is both the industrial and commercial center of the country and is located in the southeast. It has a population of about 250,000.

Program in Brief
The University of Botswana is excited about broadening international relations and welcomes students from a variety of countries to study at the Gaborone campus. The International Office assists students in class enrollment and orientation to university life; throughout the semester, it also schedules various trips around the area for students.

Academic Program and Areas of Study
The University of Botswana, offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate educational experiences across disciplines for students planning to do full time study at UB. Course options include classes in English, French, Business, Biology, Environmental Science, and others.

Orientation
There is a mandatory set of pre-departure orientations at PC for all students planning to participate in the program. In addition, the UB offers a two-week intensive cultural learning program before the start of each semester intended to acquaint students with life in Gamborone and at the university.

Housing and Meals
On-campus accommodations are guaranteed for students.
