Short Term Programs

Short-term programs are usually during the summer months, maymester, around spring break or during winter break. A Maymester program is led by two PC faculty members. These programs typically travel in the month of May, or during spring break or winter break. Your group will likely consist of fellow PC students, and you will be taught by PC faculty. Some students also have the option to get involved in internships abroad or volunteer programs abroad. The length of these programs is typically between 4-12 weeks.

Eligibility

  • You must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 in order to be granted permission to participate in short-term programs. If you do not meet the minimum GPA requirement, a faculty committee will evaluate your application to determine whether an exception is warranted.
  • Students on academic or disciplinary probation or suspension, or with other serious disciplinary records, are not eligible for study abroad.
  • Students studying abroad will be charged PC’s short-term program fees.
  • Students with delinquent accounts are not eligible for study abroad.

Application Process

For the faculty-led program, students have to submit a study abroad application, Medical Form, Risks and Responsibilities Waiver, and Program Contract.

Academic Credit

PC Short Term Programs typically range between 3-6 hours of academic credit.

Cost

Costs vary according to program but are generally between $3,000 and $7,000.
