Program Description

RELG 458 - India: In Search of the Sacred
RELG 310 - World Religions

Courses Description:

In this course, you will experience religion, culture, and wildlife of India firsthand. You will visit Hindu, Buddhist and Jain temples; explore palaces; float down the backwater of Kerala on a houseboat; drink out of coconuts; bathe elephants; and much, much more.

Emphasis will be placed on understanding many of the different religious traditions found in India, and the various cultures and habitats that shaped them. The course is designed to ensure active participation, including two social service projects, inter-religious discussions and a yoga class.

*Students who register for this Maymester course cannot register for RELG 458 and RELG 310
