HIST 2800 - Doomsday: Mayan Civilization Then and Now

This course is designed to give students an overview of the history and politics of Guatemala. It will link readings and discussions with the travel itinerary and cover a range of topics including:

• Spanish Colonialism and Mayan Cultural History
• Independence, Race, and Nation
• Environmental History
• American Hegemony and Neo-Colonialism
